Every year, the coastal community of Pancer gathers to honor the sea, their provider, protector, and timeless partner. The Petik Laut ceremony is a vibrant expression of gratitude, a cultural heartbeat that has endured through generations of fishermen who depend on the ocean’s rhythm for their livelihood.

At dawn, a beautifully adorned ceremonial boat is prepared, filled with offerings symbolizing prosperity, harmony, and hope. Led by traditional prayers, the boat is carried to the water and released gently into the vast blue, an act of surrender, trust, and sacred connection between humanity and the sea.

The ritual unfolds with music, dance, and community celebration, transforming the coastline into a living tapestry of heritage, color, and collective spirit.
